Volunteer Policy

Volunteers are indispensable for MFC 't Wijkhuis. That is why we consider it important to have a good policy in place for volunteers. A complete copy of the volunteer policy can be requested by sending an email to coordinator@wijkhuisdenhelder.nl

This volunteer policy describes the agreements and conditions necessary for volunteers to come into their own and to pursue the goals of 't Wijkhuis together.

What do our volunteers do

MFC 't Wijkhuis cannot function without the dedication of its loyal volunteers. They play a very important role in the hospitable and service-oriented way in which 't Wijkhuis wants to approach its visitors.

About 40 volunteers work at 't Wijkhuis in various task areas such as:

  • Senior activities:
    • Club effe d'r Uit, game afternoons
  • Children's activities:
    • Sports, crafts and culture

Evening activities:

  • Card games, darts
  • Cooking:
    • Cooking for and from the Neighborhood, Eating together project
  • Bar:
    • Host/hostess at activities, events, parties and celebrations
  • Project-based projects:
    • Jevak, King's Day, Neighbors Day
  • Organization and administration:
    • Accounting, finances, PR, secretariat
  • Hand massage:
    • During senior activities and events

The volunteers all have their own motivation to do volunteer work and 't Wijkhuis will give sufficient attention and appreciation to keep this motivation high. 't Wijkhuis has developed a volunteer policy in which all agreements regarding rights and obligations are stated.

Volunteer Profiles

In addition to a professional volunteer coordinator and a manager, MFC 't Wijkhuis works with volunteers who take care of daily operations in various task segments.

There are volunteers who are involved in:

  • Board
  • Kitchen activities
  • Bar work
  • PR activities
  • Accounting
  • Children's activities
  • IT

To create a clear picture of which tasks are (must be) performed daily, who is responsible for what, I believe this function book offers a helping hand.

Initially, this function book will describe the daily task segments of the host, the bar coordinator, the day and evening shift bar staff and the bar interns, but also the kitchen coordinator and kitchen staff.

Because tasks within a task segment can change and/or be expanded, this function book has a dynamic character and the volunteer coordinator will adjust this function book as soon as this appears necessary.

Each volunteer has their own responsibility for correctly fulfilling their task, however the final responsibility always lies with the volunteer coordinator and/or the manager of MFC 't Wijkhuis.
